Ukraine wheat forecasts cut due to extreme weather
Ukraine's wheat harvest and exports forecasts for 2010/11 have been cut due to extreme weather, analysts and agriculture officials said on Monday.

The Financial Times: Drought doubles price of barley in six weeks
The price of barley, an important feed grain for the European livestock industry, has more than doubled in six weeks in response to the drought affecting Russia and Ukraine, prompting fears of increases in the cost of meat and poultry. European feed barley has risen to €210 a tonne, up 130 per cent from €90 a tonne in mid-June. Read the story here.

State Tax Administration: Value Added Tax bonds worth Hr 16 billion ready
Government domestic loan bonds to pay a debt on VAT reimbursement (VAT bonds) worth some UAH 16.4 billion would be sent to taxpayers' accounts in August, the deputy head of the State Tax Administration of Ukraine (STAU), Oleksiy Liubchenko, has told the press.

Ukraine says gas transit rises by 21 percent over first seven months of 2010
Natural gas transit through Ukraine to Europe and the CIS in January-July 2010 amounted to 57.641 billion cubic meters (bcm), which is 20.69% (or 9.88 bcm) up on 2009, the press service of Ukrtransgaz, a subsidiary of Naftogaz Ukrainy, has reported.

Tigipko: Ukraine to unblock grain export
The authorities' decisions leading to unlawful delays in export shipments of grain, should be abolished, and those guilty of creating obstacles to grain export should be punished, said Deputy Prime Minister Sergiy Tigipko.
